Iconic bikes

by

A little something for interaction on our Classic Dirt Bike website is the Iconic Bikes series.

A little bit of fun for us in this time of uncertainty, it’s not a competition, there’s no prizes, just a bit of chat about what you think is an iconic dirt bike.

The page on the site is www.classicdirtbike.co.uk/icon/ and the guidelines are fairly relaxed and amount to a bike which fits in with the era of the magazine – mid-1950s to late 80s – and it has to be a dirt bike.

This covers naturally enough trials, scrambles/MX, enduro in solo and sidecar form and could include grasstrack and speedway machines too.

So what’s your idea of an iconic bike?

It can be a production bike or a works bike. We expect you to say a few words about your choice of bike, why you say it’s an icon basically – we’d like a pic or at least a suggestion of where we could find one in the archive.
