The Italians do hospitality exceedingly well and as a guest at the 2016 Imola Motocross Show, Ian Berry would experience that first-hand.
Delays! Delays! Delays! Air travel can be frustrating, however, on arrival at Guglielmo Marconi Airport, event organiser Luciano Costa was there to meet me, he listened to my profuse apology for being so late, before telling me: “That’s okay with me, but Mr Hallman and his friend have been waiting two hours!”
Luckily, for me, he was joking, in part at least, as there, waiting for me, was four-time 250 world motocross champion, Torsten ‘Mr Motocross’ Hallman!

Torsten soon put me at ease as we set off for Imola. It was all quite surreal, not least of all chatting to Torsten on the half-hour drive south.
I had previously had email contact with him, but this was our first meeting.
