Can-Am 250cc winner announced at Stafford

by

Rob Miles, lucky winner of the Can-Am 250 enduro and Tim Britton, editor of CDB

Lucky winner of our Can-Am enduro 250cc competition prize is Rob Miles, a landscape gardener and lifelong enduro fan and allround bike enthusiast.

Rob doesn't have a road licence but has raced MX at expert level for the last 30 years. He started with a Triumph Tiger Cub and progressed through to a series of big YZ Yamahas

Rob, 52, will probably sit his bike test now! He was awarded the bike by Classic Dirt Bike editor Tim Britton in the Dirt Bike hall at Stafford.

The 19th Carole Nash Classic Mechanics Show seemed a lifetime away when the Can-Am 250cc project bike rebuild and future competition prize was conceived in mid-to-late 2011, and the bike back then was in a very sorry state and in much need of tlc. Enter Tim Britton and a team of dedicated specialists who carefully assembly and rebuilt the bike to the enviable standard you see here.

Can-Am 250cc enduro bike competition prizeThe engine was professionally rebuilt and the restoration serialised in Classic Dirt Bike and reproduced here on Classic Bikers Club and the build overseen by mag editor Tim Britton.

Tim has ridden the competition prize at Vinduro in Sept 2011 and, more recently, to and from work and Vinduro 2012. He’s also scrambled the bike in August and May at Lanark to fully iron out all the bugs. This bike works and works really well. Valued at around £2000, the bike is fully road legal.
