It is a fact we all get older and there is no escaping mortality, but it’s still a shock when names well known in the off-road world pass on. Those of us in the trials world were shocked to hear of Swedish former world champion and Montesa star Ulf Karlsson’s passing earlier this year after a battle with cancer. The Swede was world champion in 1980 and for many years always near the top of the world rankings. Our Swedish correspondent Birger Tommos visited Ulf for a feature in CDB issue 20.
